Funeral Arrangements Set for Fallen Officer

Police Officer Arthur Lopez will be laid to rest on Saturday afternoon.

Funeral preparations for Nassau County Police Officer Arthur "Artie" Lopez have been made and the slain cop will be laid to rest this Saturday afternoon.

Officer Lopez, a Babylon Village resident who was allegedly gunned down by Queens resident Darrell Fuller after a hit-and-run accident, will be waked in Merrick at the Merrick Fire Department firehouse at 2300 Merick Avenue. The wake will take place on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Lopez's body will then be transported to Baldwin for a funeral ceremony at St. Christopher's Church at 11 Gale Ave. on Saturday afternoon. The funeral will take place at 12 p.m.

There is no word currently on where Officer Lopez will be buried.
