Man Arrested in Inwood for Having Gun, Cops Say

North Carolina man was getting into a car when police saw him with a firearm.

A North Carolina man was arrested in Inwood on Wednesday after police officers saw the handle of a gun protruding from his front pants pockets, according to police.

Jarrot Jones, 21, of Matthews, N.C., was allegedly observed by cops getting into a vehicle on Merril Street with a gun, police said. Police arrested him around 3:41 p.m. and found that the firearm’s serial number had been removed.

Jones is being charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
