Photos: A Casino Night Where Everyone is a Winner

JCC holds fun fundraiser to benefit its kosher food pantry.

The 's Casino Night on Saturday helped the organization raise $50,000 to benefit its kosher food pantry, which serves some 200 local families every week.

"Thanks to the generosity of the Greater Five Towns community, our Casino Night fundraiser was a huge success," said Josh Summers, one of the event chairs. "I was especially inspired to see people in their 20s and 30s — many of whom are just getting started in their careers — donate selflessly to help our community's least fortunate.”

Attendees played blackjack, Texas Hold ‘em, roulette and slots for fun and prizes while enjoying sushi, coffee and desserts at the . Tickets for the event were $100 or $180 for a pair.

“It was wonderful to see the younger generation embrace the fine work of the JCC of the Greater Five Towns and in particular show their support for the JCC Food Pantry,” said Michael Kerr, a board member and past president of the JCC.  “By educating these young families, we are building the next generation of leaders for our community and for the benefit of those whose needs are served by the JCC.”
