Police Seeking Info on Cedarhurst Home Burglary

The suspect walked into a Cedarhurst home and stole a leather handbag before fleeing.

 

Nassau County Police are searching for a suspect that was involved in a Sunday night Cedarhurst home burglary.

According to Nassau County detectives, at 8:22 p.m., the suspect entered an Arbuckle Avenue residence through an unlocked front door and took a green leather Banana Republic handbag from the dining room table.

Two female residents, a 62-year-old and a 23-year-old, were at home watching television in another room when they heard someone inside the house, police said. They apparently startled the suspect, who immediately fled from the home with the handbag.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years old, 5-foot-10, heavy or stocky build, wearing a tan colored jacket with a hood, work boots and a black colored knit hat.

Detectives are requesting anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls are confidential and all callers will remain anonymous.

Thank G-d he fled. What a brazen criminal.

Maybe everyone needs to install security cameras and lock their front (and back) doors and windows.

If anyone installed cameras post info on cost etc for others to consider.
