Curran to host Open Forum on LIRR/MTA Services

Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st AD) today announced that he will be holding an open forum on issues concerning the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

The event will take place Thursday, January 30 at the Rockville Centre Library (221 N. Village Avenue, Rockville Centre) starting at 7:30 p.m.

LIRR & MTA officials and liasions will be present to join Assemblyman Curran listening to residents’ feedback.  They will also answer any questions that people may have regarding service, equipment, routes and other matters.

“In times of high gas prices, the quality and affordability of the LIRR and MTA services is very important.  I want to hear from neighbors about their concerns and get their thoughts on the services, cleanliness and the on-time schedule of the trains,” said Assemblyman Curran.

“With thousands of people using these services on a daily basis, it is time that we make a conscious effort to provide a quality and affordable product for them,” Curran added.

Curran went on to say that he will also be conducting a survey to present to LIRR President Helena Williams and demand action on constituent feedback.
