Lawrence Rededicates Country Club, Salutes Murray, Santino, Kopel for Post-Sandy Work

The Incorporated Village of Lawrence and Mayor Martin Oliner rededicated the Lawrence Village Yacht & County Club earlier this week.  The facility re-opened for the first time since being damaged by Hurricane Sandy, as well as the storm's tidal flooding and winds.

Supervisor Kate Murray, Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino and Legislator Howard J. Kopel were on hand to celebrate the occasion with neighbors and village officials.  But, at the same time, Mayor Oliner and the Lawrence Village Board celebrated Supervisor Murray, Councilman Santino and Legislator Kopel for their continued commitment after Hurricane Sandy passed our shores at recovery and helping neighbors and businesses come back.

Oliner, joined by Village Trustees Michael Fragin and Irving Langer, presented Murray, Santino and Kopel with village citations and recognition for a job well done.  Each three elected officials with integral in Lawrence's - and the entire Five Towns' - recovery, including opening warming and power-charging stations, providing solar-powered lighting and traffic control devices to the area as well as increasing police security to keep neighbors and property safe, dispatching mobile building department crews into the community and spearheading the opening of the Five Towns Disaster Recovery Center at Young Israel of Woodmere.
