14 Things People Want To See Happen in Five Towns in 2014

On Thursday we asked Five Towns Patch readers a simple question on Facebook: "What do you want to see happen in the Five Towns in 2014?"

Here's what you said:

1. Lights corrected in Hewlett by Burger King and less traffic.
2. Second the traffic light corrected in Hewlett by Burger King.
3. Retail stores opening, not banks or medical offices.
4. No more nail salons/hair salons.
5. The number six school sold to a school. And the playground left open to be used by the community.
6. NO MORE BANKS!! I think it's ridiculous that Burger King is going to close this summer so that TD Bank can go there.. Within walking distance of that area there will be 6 or 7 banks.. Really is that necessary?? The kids at the high school already lost Broadway pizza and now Burger King will be one less place for them to go to as well..It doesn't leave many options..
7. Marijuana dispensary!
8. Stores staying open later on friday night ...jus sayin.
9. More stores and restaurants. Less Banks and Silver stores and enough synagogues. There are so many already. Let's restore the past elegance of the area.
10. Hewlett needs a diner or luncheonette and an ice cream parlor.
11. A part 2 of goodfellas.
12. Less parking tickets!
13. A real jcc with a pool ( like Oceanside) with a safe place for our teens to hang out.
14. Turkish restaurant.
