AB Bridge to Close Again for Nighttime Repairs

The Atlantic Beach Bridge will once again close for repairs to its bascule leafs.

The Nassau County Bridge Authoirty said that the bridge will close for the installation of the new west span lock components on Thursday, Sept. 12, and Friday, Sept. 13, between the hours of midnight to 5 a.m.

It will close again on Tuesday, Sept. 24, and Wednesday, Sept. 25, between the hours of midnight to 5 a.m. for the removal of the existing east span lock components.

The new east span lock components will be installed on Tuesday, Oct. 15, and Wednesday, Oct. 16, between the hours of midnight to 5 a.m., when the bridge will be closed.

The Bridge will open to vehicular traffic for 10 minutes each hour from 12:50 to 1 a.m., 1:50 to 2 a.m., 2:50 to 3 a.m. and 3:50 to 4 a.m. At 5 a.m., traffic restrictions will end.
