Boards Recap: Vegas Comes to Cedarhurst, Ironman Lake Placid

News shared by the community on Patch.

It was a busy week on Five Towns Patch, and your neighbors shared a number of stories pertaining to the local community.

Here's a look at some interesting boards posts from the past week:

  • Vegas Comes to Cedarhurst at Andrew J. Parise Park: Vegas has left the park but not without a non stop-entertaining event filled with laughter, singing, and dancing.
  • Ironman Lake Placid 2013: It was a mild overcast morning with rain in the forecast.  The lake was beautiful and calm, however once almost 3000 participants started the swim portion of the event, the lake became very choppy.
  • Santino Secures Third Ballot Line: Town of Hempstead Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino earned another spot on November’s ballot this week as he secured the Independence Party’s nomination in his bid for re-election, giving Santino yet another spot – Row E – on the ballot.
  • New Construction: Good to see a new commercial building going up on the corner of Franklin and Cedar in Woodmere. This will add a tax paying property to the tax rolls.
