Community Chest Cancels Cabaret Night to Focus on Sandy Victims

Event had been scheduled for this Thursday.

The following is from the Five Towns Community Chest

After careful consideration, The Five Towns Community Chest has decided to cancel the “Neighbors in Need” Cabaret Night scheduled for this Thursday evening, Nov. 15, at the Woodmere Club.

The “Neighbors in Need” campaign raises funds for families in our community that need help with the basics of everyday life. Community Chest is immediately allocating 100 percent of the funds raised for the event to the many local families in dire need after Hurricane Sandy.

Our honorees, Rhonda and Marc Marinoff and Alisha and Craig Spatz, decided that we should concentrate our efforts solely on improving the lives of our neighbors and allocate all funds raised for the event to that cause. We salute our honorees for their decision, which stands as a testament to their character and reinforces our decision to select them as this year’s honorees.

The Community Chest, along with its local agencies, is helping affected Five Towns residents return to a semblance of normal life. We are so proud of all of those who help to make our Five Towns a great community.

Thank you for your support,
Cal Nathan & Trudi Haberman, Co-Chairs
