Where to Go on a Beautiful Spring or Summer Day

Check out a local park or the Long Beach boardwalk.

The nice weather recently reminds us that summer is right around the corner. With so many nice parks in our area, why not take some time this weekend and check one of them out?

Pack a frisbee, get the bicycles out of the garage, put on your jogging shoes, maybe even pack up a nice lunch, and head on over to see what your local parks have to offer.

Rockville Centre Parks and Recreation
Play some tennis or check out the handball courts. The Rockville Centre Recreation Center has much to offer everyone in your family, including four tennis courts and two handball courts.

Hempstead Lake State Park
Head over to Hempstead Lake State Park in West Hempstead and see the historical wooden carousel or saddle up and go horseback riding.

Long Beach Boardwalk
Take a walk, ride a bike, or jog on our beautiful Long Beach boardwalk. Built back in 1909, this popular place is good to visit anytime day or night. Great place to watch a sunset, too!

Greis Park
Located in Lynbrook, little ones and adults alike will be fascinated for hours with all the facilities, including the playground, picnic tables, basketball courts and more. If your timing is good, you just might catch a game of baseball.

Grant Park
Is anyone up for a game of basketball? Head over to Grant Park, located in Hewlett. While some of the family does that, how about putting on those rollerblades and skating the path around the lake.

Don't go to hempstead lake state park! Not safe or hospitable. Lakeview spill over for bad-acting "players". MS-13 hempstead clique to the north. Better off just going to the beach, north shore parks, or upstate.
