Winter Weather Advisory: Snow on Tap for Weekend

Snowy conditions expected throughout the day.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all parts of Nassau County this weekend.

The advisory will be in effect from 8 a.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday. As the temperature is expected to dip below 30 degrees Friday night across Long Island, the NWS forecast is also calling for snow Saturday morning.

With a 90 percent chance of precipitation, Saturday's storm is expected to sprinkle 2 to 4 inches of snow, beginning after 9 a.m.

As per the advisory, visibility is expected to be one-quarter to one-half mile at times. Periods of snow, sleet and/or freezing rain will make travel dangerous.

The weekend's lowest temperature - a blustery 26 degrees - is expected Sunday evening.
