Mark your calendars for the Hewlett-Woodmere "Friend Raiser" Music and Art Festival on February 15, 2011. Like the first event held in October 2009, the goal of the "Friend Raiser" is to bring the community together for a celebration of unity through song and the arts. Highlights of the event will include musical performances by various choral groups, orchestras, ensembles and other musical groups from many of the public and private schools in the Hewlett-Woodmere area.
The "Friend Raiser" will also feature an art exhibit from community schools. Schools and organizations scheduled to participate include Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools, Lawrence Woodmere Academy, Five Towns Senior Center, Kulanu Torah Academy, Stella K. Abraham, United/Choral Society and Young Artists of Long Island.
