Burgers Bar Closes its Doors

Popular burger joint in Cedarhurst shuts down after five years.

It’s a sad day for burger lovers – in Cedarhurst recently closed down.

The restaurant, located on Central Avenue, was known for its kosher cooked-to-order burgers that were made with a variety of meats, which could be garnished with a variety of gourmet sauces and toppings.

Owner , who opened the eatery about five years ago, said that there was no other restaurant quite like it anywhere, and he wanted to fill that void. His vision was to open a casual, kosher burger restaurant that was clean and offered good service. He felt that the Five Towns would be a good fit, because of it’s abundance of kosher residents.

But there was more to this place then just burgers. The restaurant had a well-rounded menu that included sandwiches, salads, appetizers and various sides. According to Krevat, he enjoyed a diverse clientele as well, with families coming in during the day and teens stopping in at night.

Burgers Bar was unique in several ways. The two-story restaurant had an interesting layout, with an outdoor terrace and a party room on the second floor. The catering service did well, and the store started offering its uncooked burgers and specialty sauces for take-out or to be shipped anywhere in the world. After the success of his Five Town’s location, he opened another store in Teaneck, N.J.
