Several Maple Plaza Spaces Vacant
The former Quicki Mart and other spaces are still available for rent.
The former Quickie Mart in Cedarhurst's Maple Plaza at 578 Central Ave. is one of the shopping center's many available vacancies.
The 1,200 square-foot corner storefront is going for $3,000 a month, and as Pugatch real estate agent Lori Lewis suggests, business owners should consider catering towards Cedarhurst’s family-oriented atmosphere.
“There is a lot of foot traffic from the and a lot of business that caters towards kids,” Lewis said. “, which has classes here, has become a center for a lot of families.”

It has been available for about a year, and like several other spaces in the shopping center, Lewis said she believes that location and visibility still make it a viable place to open a business.
“It is a really nice store, right in front on Central,” she explained. “It’s in a good location and there is good foot traffic, so it’s a well-traveled strip.”

Paul Holzberg, manager at the neighboring , said there is no other place in the Five Towns he would rather run his classic and contemporary silver boutique than in the Cedarhurst business district.
“Central Avenue is where it’s at, and there’s no question about that,” Holzberg said. “You can pick up everything because there is a massive selection of stores here.”
Holzberg boasts that his block not only has good parking but the sidewalks often keep a steady flow of daily shoppers.
“No one else thinks of anything but Central Avenue when you're going to shop,” he said. “We’re surrounded by three pizzerias here so there’s massive traffic in the neighborhood.”
Currently, the block has an abundance of restaurants such as , and , and as Holzberg suggests, anyone opening a business there should consider going into retail.
“Stay far away from opening an eatery, that's all I can say,” he warned. “We have plenty of those here.”
