New Businesses: Goods, Accessories and Dollar Games on Central

Family opens new variety store in Cedarhurst.

With most people looking to save a buck wherever they can, the arrival of Kevin and Melody’s Discount store in Cedarhurst may prove to be a welcome addition to the Five Towns.

The variety store, at 468 Central Ave., offers bargain prices on a wide assortment of goods such as dishware, cleaning supplies, baby products, games, candy, trading cards, paper goods, party décor, watches, phone accessories and school supplies.

“Nobody has the variety that what we have,” said Moshe Haghazari, father of the owner. “We have everything that people need and great prices. Where else can you get nice toys for a dollar or two?”

The original location of the family business is in Great Neck, where they reside. Through friendships with people in the Five Towns area, they became familiar with the neighborhood and decided it would be a good fit for their second store, which they opened in mid-February.
