Sandy-Damaged Bed Bath & Beyond Reopens

All stores in Bay Harbour Mall now operational after storm.

Eight months after Hurricane Sandy, the Bay Harbour Mall in North Lawrence is again fully back in business with the June 5 reopening of Bed Bath & Beyond.

The 28,000 square-foot store has been reconstructed and will feature the same merchandise and home furnishings, according to a press release. Bed Bath & Beyond has been serving the Five Towns area since 1972, originally located in Cedarhurst and now at 365 Rockaway Turnpike.

“The spirit of Long Island continues to amaze us after the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy” said Steven Temares, chief executive officer of Bed Bath & Beyond, in a press release. “We are thrilled to be welcomed back to the community and look forward to serving our customers as they continue to rebuild.”
