Owning a business is a volatile undertaking across the country and in the Five Towns.

Many shops, restaurants, and other stores have come and gone, unable to survive despite their best efforts, award-winning cuisine, or quality products.

Restaurant have it particularly hard. According to Businessweek.com, "one in four restaurants close or change ownership within their first year of business," and 60 percent don't make it past year three.

Whether it was your favorite lunch spot that just closed down or an old bike shop you visited as a child, what business from Five Towns’ past do you miss most? Have you found any adequate replacements for those bygone businesses?

Tell us in the comments.
