Wrap Your Kid in Designer Threads at New Hewlett Boutique

Gillian Leesang said she loves dressing her kids in new, fashionable clothes each year, and she’s banking other Five Towns mothers feel the same.

The North Woodmere resident recently opened her first business, Sydclo Children’s Boutique in Hewlett, which specializes in designer clothes for the little ones in a bright and cozy boutique setting.

“I always wanted to open a clothing store,” Leesang said. “Hewlett is becoming a boutique-y kind of town. I realized there were no kids’ clothing stores in this area.”

Sydclo, named for Leesang’s children Sydney and Chloe, is the only store in the area that carries brands such as Little Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney Kids, Lili Gaufrette, Diesel Kids, Pearls & Popcorn and Joe Jeans, according to Leesang. Sydclo, located at 1237 Broadway also carries toys, including ones made from recycled materials.

The styles will shift every season, said Leesang, who offers customized service, private appointments and special orders. Photos of new items will also be uploaded to the store’s Instagram page, which has already attracted some customers.

Leesang said she soon plans to host story time with a costumed character every month in the shop.

Parking is available in the back of the store, which is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
