Cedarhurst Mayor 'Humbled' by Girl's Poem on Veterans

Andrew Parise, a World War II veteran, reacts to 11-year-old's words.

From Cedarhurst Mayor Andrew Parise:

When I received this poem (see attached), written by a beautiful 11-year-old girl, I was humbled and honored. For one so young to have such an understanding and to be grateful to the men and women who serve this country touched me so deeply.

This is a sentiment that everyone in the United States of America should have towards our Veterans. I share this poem with every Veteran, especially my sergeant during World War II, who never came home, Sgt. Kimpinski.
