Rain or shine, we have you covered this weekend with some fun indoor and outdoor events.
Rain, rain go away...we have some great local outdoor events planned for this Saturday and Sunday.
But if Mother Nature does wash out this weekend's Festival by the Sea and the other fairs taking place close to home, we also found some weather-proof activities for you and your family to enjoy.

Rock Out for Cures
Where: The Plattduetsche Park, 1132 Hempstead Trpk. Franklin Square

When: Saturday, Sept. 24, 3 p.m.–11 p.m.
Why go: Have fun with your whole family, enjoy music and support a good cause. This event is hosted by Rock Out Cures, a non-profit that specializes in concert-type benefits to raise money for the American Cancer Society, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network and the Wounded Warrior Project.
So far, R.O.C. has raised over $45,000 for charity. Five top notch musical acts will perform and there will also be bouncers, entertainment for children, food, drinks, raffles and prizes. Event takes place rain or shine. Check out this website for more information.

Festival by the Sea
Where: Lido Beach, 630 Lido Blvd. Lido Beach
When: Saturday, Sept. 24, 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 25, 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m..
Why go: The annual Town of Hempstead Festival by the Sea will take place at Lido Beach Town Park. There will be food, entertainment, vendors, eating contests, pony rides, circus clowns, a petting zoo and sand sculptures, as well as children’s shows. Join others for a clam and rib eating contest on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m.

Craft Sale
Where: Nassau Boulevard, Garden City
When: Sunday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Why go: Arts and crafts, antiques, and food for sale, among other merchandise along with entertainment. A fun day to be spent out in the community.

Five Towns Community Chest Fall Fair
Where: Village of Cedarhurst, 200 Cedarhurst Ave, Cedarhurst
When: Saturday, Sept. 24, 11 a.m. and Sunday, Sept. 24, 11 a.m.
Why go: Come out to Andrew J. Parise Park for the 27th Annual Fall Fair and enjoy a weekend of rides, games and get to know the Community Chest as they celebrate Five Towns. They will also present an outdoor movie screening at 8:30 p.m.
Flea Market
Where: 233 Woodlawn Rd., West Hempstead
When: Saturday, Sept. 24, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Breast Cancer Walk
Where: Eisenhower Park Field 6A, 1899 Hempstead Tpke, East Meadow
When: Saturday, Sept. 24, 9:30 a.m.
Why go: September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and the walk to “Break the Silence” is the largest awareness event for the NOCC nationwide. Join the Long Island Chapter of the NOCC in it’s 5th Annual Walk to “Break the Silence” on ovarian cancer. More information here.
Classical Music
Where: West Hempstead Public Library, 500 Hempstead Ave, West Hempstead
When: Sunday, Sept. 25, 2 p.m.
Why go: Classical concert violinist Akilo Kobayashi brings her musical talents to the West Hempstead Public Library in celebration of Classical Music Month. Her performance will feature an early Haydnesque Beethoven violin sonata.

Isles Host Blood Drive
Where: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 1255 Hempstead Tpke, Uniondale
When: Saturday, Sept. 24, noon-7 p.m.
Why go: The New York Islanders are teaming up with the American Red Cross once again to help save lives by hosting a blood drive. The first 200 people to donate blood will receive a voucher for two tickets to an upcoming weeknight game and valuable coupons for local merchants. All donors who are attending the game will be entered to win an opportunity to "High 5" the players as they go out onto the ice! for more info.
Best of Bach
Where: Molloy College, 1000 Hempstead Ave., Rockville Centre
When: Sunday, Sept. 25, 3 p.m.
Why go: Are you a fan of classical music? While you are enjoying pieces by the greatest masters, Dr. Thomas Malone, chairperson of the Molloy College Music Deptartment, will lecture about the importance and lasting impact of Bach's music.
