Village places eighth on national list.

The Village of Hewlett Neck, with a population of about 450 people, has been named one of America's most affluent neighborhoods by Forbes.

The media household income of Hewlett Neck in 2010 was $235,000, Forbes says.

"Hewlett Neck, the wealthy section of a group of abutting villages called 'The Hewletts,' where residents enjoy access to the south shore ocean and to New York City, just 20 miles away," an article about the list says about the village.
