Madoff Worked As Lifeguard in Atlantic Beach
According to Bio profile, man behind Ponzi scheme was employed at Silver Point Beach Club in his youth.
Bernard Madoff, who is serving a 150-year sentence after pleading guilty to being behind a grand Ponzi scheme, attended Far Rockaway High School in 1952 and worked as a lifeguard in Atlantic Beach, according to a profile of the 73 year old on Bio.
Madoff was employed at the Silver Point Beach Club in Atlantic Beach, where he saved up money for later investments. He earned a degree in political science from Hofstra University, and started his own securities firm. The firm attracted such star clients as Steven Spielberg, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick.
Madoff was arrested on Dec. 10, 2008.
