Whiz Kid: Samson Bialostok

An accomplished athlete and student adds another title to his resume.

Samson Bialostok, 17

  • School/Team: , Golden Tornadoes football and basketball teams
  • Accomplishment: Bialostok has been recognized for his achievements both in the classroom, on the field and on the court. He was named one of Nassau’s top a few months ago. Bialostok’s latest accomplishment was being named New York State Class A Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the New York State High School Football Coaches Association.
  • Key to Awesomeness: “Truthfully, I do not consider myself to be awesome. The better description for me is fortunate. I was fortunate enough to have two dedicated and supportive parents. My mother and father pushed me to excel in the classroom, as well as in my extracurricular activities. I was fortunate enough to share close relationships with many teachers and administrators in the Lawrence district. Through the years, various members of the faculty have guided me favorably toward success.
“Many principles and morals are learned on the sporting field or court. I consider myself lucky to have had coaches that were as determined to making me a better man as they were determined to winning. Most importantly, I am thankful for the teammates I have had. The members of my football and basketball team have taught me many lessons. I sincerely hope I was ‘awesome’ enough to have taught them a thing or two as well.”
