Whiz Kids: Town of Hempstead Honors Science Awardees
Five local students awarded for their recognition in Intel and Siemens competitions.
Intel and Siemens semifinalists and finalist and Town of Hempstead honorees.
Who: Nathan Akhavan, of Plainview, a student of Rambam Mesivta in Lawrence; Jeremy Sacks, of Woodmere, a student at HAFTR; Abraham Killanin, of Inwood, Samuel Sussman, of Lawrence and Ashley Chapin of Atlantic Beach, students of Lawrence High School.
Accomplishment: Both Akhavan and Killanin were named in Intel's annual science competition, while Sacks and Sussman were named semifinalists in the Siemens Westinghouse Competition. Chapin was named a regional finalist in the Siemens competition.
