This Election Day will set the course of Nassau County for the next four years.
Tom Suozzi, who served as county executive from 2002 to 2009 when he was defeated in an upset by now-County Executive Edward Mangano, has entered the fray to get his old job back.
Meanwhile, voters will also choose their Nassau representatives and determine the makeup of the legislature, which has been controlled by the Republicans for years.

LD4 (Atlantic Beach, Lawrence, part of Cedarhurst and Woodmere, Woodsburgh and Hewlett Neck): Incumbent Denise Ford is unchallenged
LD6 (part of Hewlett and Woodmere): Incumbent Francis Becker is unchallenged
LD7 (part of Lawrence, Cedarhurst, the Hewletts and Woodmere): Incumbent Howard Kopel faces Lisa Daniels
Town District 4: Incumbent Anthony Santino faces Patrick Gillespie (has been updated with response from the latter)
Town Clerk: Nasrin Ahmad faces Jasmine Garcia-Vieux
Town Supervisor: Incumbent Kate Murray faces Felix Procacci
Also on the ballot is a referendum to build seven casinos in the state.
