YOUNG ISRAEL OF HEWLETT/CONGREGATION AHAVAT YISRAEL PARTICIPATES IN THE 17th ANNUAL SHABBAT ACROSS AMERICA AND CANADA PROGRAM

-- Participants Join Over 70,000 North American Jews in Major Effort to Revitalize Sabbath Observance --
Young Israel of Hewlett/Congregation Ahavat Yisrael will be one of approximately 700
synagogues across the continent that will simultaneously open its doors to practicing and non-practicing Jews alike, so they may join together to experience and rejoice in a traditional Shabbat service and festive meal. Over 914,000
people have participated in Shabbat Across America and Canada in the past.

Led by Rabbi Heshy Blumstein, attendees will experience an interactive a traditional explanatory Shabbat dinner with all the rituals explained. The event will take place from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Followed by a guest speaker Rabbi David Fohrman, author of  The Queen You Thought You Knew, Unmasking Esther’s Hidden Story.

Located at One Piermont Avenue, Young Israel of Hewlett/Congregation Ahavat Yisrael has over 120 members from the Five Towns Jewish community.  Young
Israel of Hewlett/Congregation Ahavat Yisrael has been an innovator in Jewish programming and education.  This is their third year participating in the Shabbat
Across America and Canada program.
