The McHale family of Lawrence recently got a glimpse at their future home in Inwood, which they won the opportunity to buy at a discount from the Town of Hempstead.
The McHales, Robert and Kimberly and their five children, now share an apartment in Lawrence. They were one of five families to be selected for Hempstead's Affordable Homes Program, which builds new houses on formerly abandoned or blighted lots.
