Man Trying to Become a Paramedic Seeks Help

Baldwin man raising funds to pay tuition for NYS paramedic.

The 32-year-old from Baldwin has worked as a volunteer firefighter and earned his Emergency Medical Technician certification three years ago.

"As someone who has grown up with Tourette's and losing my father to cancer, I know what its like to struggle and to earn everything in life," he wrote on GoFundMe.com. "All I dream is to be there for others the way my family and friends have been there for me."

Michael has set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise $6,000 for tuition to become a full New York State-licensed paramedic. His campaign, launched Dec. 28, has already raised $1,140.
