Endorsement from former Trustee Ed Klar

Dear Friends,

There is an important election tomorrow, to elect two Trustees to the Village Board.  Michael Fragin is running for re-election as Trustee. Joel Mael has chosen not to run for re-election after 10 years of service, and we all owe him a debt of thanks for his hard work. I had the privilege of serving as a Trustee in our Village from 2004 through 2012. During much of the 20 years I have lived in the Village, there has rarely been an actual contested election, and our residents have not always turned out to vote. This year there are 3 candidates running for 2 open seats. I believe that it is very important for you to cast one vote for Michael Fragin as Trustee. Michael has always asked done his homework, reading contracts, reviewing invoices and asking the tough questions, on behalf of all of our residents. This unfortunately cannot be said about all of our elected officials. He is an active participant in many of our community organizations, and was extremely helpful after Superstorm Sandy, using his contacts to obtain and disseminate accurate information, as well as working with Hatzalah to help our residents who were in trouble. Michaele has many years of State and local government knowledge, contacts and experience to our community. I also wonder why two of the candidates are running, when they have never been involved with any Village activities or Boards, and have to my knowledge never even attended any Village Board meetings.

I urge each  of you, your spouses and children who are eligible to vote, to cast a ballot for Michael Fragin. The election takes place at Village Hall on Central and Lawrence Avenues, between 7 am and 9 pm.

I am attaching a letter that Joel Mael and myself submitted to our local newspapers last week in case you missed it.
Thank you.
Ed Klar
