Edith Siegel Ross Dies at 93

Served as a trustee in Hewlett Harbor and worked as a real estate agent.

Edith Siegel Ross, a former resident of Woodmere and Hewlett Harbor who served on the latter's board of trustees, died on March 28 in Boston, Mass. She was 93.

Born in New York on April 25, 1919, Siegel Ross was a lifelong resident of Long Island. Along with serving as a Hewlett Harbor trustee, she was a member of the League of Women Voters and the Garden Club. Siegel Ross worked as a real estate broker for 45 years at Morton M. Haves Real Estate. She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing bridge and going to the theater.

Siegel Ross is survived by children Nancy Siegel Serafini (Joseph) and Dr. Jane A. Siegel (George Manos) grandchildren John Serafini (Danielle) and Kate Cox (Peter), and three great grandchildren, Jack, Vivienne and Charles. She is predeceased by husbands Sheldon Siegel and Jerome Ross. Siegel Ross was cared for by Joan Bailey for several years.

A memorial service to be held in early May will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to the USO, P.O. Box 96322, Washington D.C., 20090-6322.
