Giovanni Cipriano Dies at 14

Giovanni Cipriano, a 14-year-old student at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School and formerly at Lawrence Public Schools, died Friday.

Giovanni suffered a massive allergic reaction about three weeks ago after accidentally eating something containing peanuts, according to a Facebook page dedicated to him. His heart stopped for 12 minutes, and a loss of oxygen caused brain damage, but doctors were able to resuscitate him. He spent weeks in a coma.

He was the son of Georgina Cornago, a former teacher assistant at Number Five School, and brother of Gianna Cipriano, a member of the Lawrence High School Graduate Class of 2012.
