Joel L. Chinman, who was born and raised in Woodmere, died on Sept. 15. He was 77.
Chinman was a graduate of Lawrence High School and Harvard University.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lilyan (Brecher) Chinman, children Laurie Getto, Jeri and Bobby Green, Jeff Chinman and Linda Reiter and Linda Pollock; grandchildren Jason and Erin, Matthew, Brooke and Mitch, Jordan, Rachel, Sydney, Jeremy, and Grayson; great-grandchild Hayden; sibling Carol Shedlin and siblings-in-law Ira and Jane Brecher and William Shedlin.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Diabetes Foundation or Colitis Foundation.
