#57 - Ice Skate at Grant Park

Hewlett rink is a fun way to enjoy the great outdoors in wintertime.

It’s time to lace up and hit the ice. The outdoor skating rink at in Hewlett has just opened for the season; it's a great local place to enjoy a popular winter sport through mid-March.

Although indoor rinks are a bit warmer and not susceptible to inclement weather, nothing beats the exhilaration of skating in the fresh air in the middle of a serene wooded park. You can even bring along a thermos of hot chocolate to enjoy by the lake when you’re done skating.

With 15 skating sessions per week at various times of the morning, afternoon and evening, the schedule can accommodate almost everyone’s needs. All sessions are two hours, which run from Wednesday through Sunday.
