#55 - Pick Out a Christmas Tree at Garden Gallery

Fresh trees and holiday accessories are plentiful at Inwood nursery.

There’s nothing like the look and scent of a traditional fresh tree to make your house come alive at Christmastime, and is one of the only places in the Five Towns that sells them.

The store exclusively carries Fraser fir evergreens, one of the most popular varieties of Christmas trees. According to owner Ken Graham, compared to other trees, they have better needle retention, which eliminates a lot of mess, and stronger branches, which won’t bend as easily under the weight of your favorite large ornaments. They are also known for their bluish tint and especially pleasant scent.

Depending on whether you want a modest four-footer or a towering tree that stands 10-feet tall, or something in between, you can get the height you want at Garden Gallery. Graham advises to keep the tree well-watered and away from radiators if possible to prolong the life of your tree. The store also carries tree toppers, skirts, ornaments and old-fashioned hand-tied bows, many of which are on sale at up to 50 percent off.

A great compliment to your tree is a fresh handmade wreath, which come in a variety of styles, some of which are decorated with pine cones and berries. Other holiday accessories include miniature trees, rosemary plants, lanterns, birdhouses and red or white poinsettias. Buy them for your own home décor or as a gift for a friend.
