School Budget Vote

I just received the mailing announcing the budget vote in Hewlett-Woodmere. The property owners who get the inflated, large clergy" exemptions will vote for the budget because they pay little or no school taxes. The average clergy exemption in district 14 is over $12,000, some as high as $14,900 ( the law says the exemption is to be $1,500). Thirty homeowners pay no school taxes. Why does the state and ,county allow this to continue? The school board will not take a position on this issue. They do not care who pays for the budget. You and I have to make up for the exempted taxes.
