central ave... oh wait, the way people drive on that road makes it feel like a parking lot..... guys... double parking is not legal!!!

In Cedarhurst, you have to feed the meters on the streets on Sat and Sun, parking lots are free, but don't park in permit parking without one, you will get a ticket!!! Also, be careful, alot of the meters do not work right.

I think we can all agree that the Five Towns has more than its fair share of bad parking lots. I am with Teri on this though - Peninsula Shopping Center. Cars come at you from all directions and none of them are going slow.

I avoid shopping in Cedarhurst like the plague due to the aggressive ticketing policy pursued by the town. They just love to give out tickets as a means to raise $$$. Don't they realize that it chases business away from the town. I also agree with one of the posters above. Double parking is not an inalienable right.

sup78, Thanks for the anti-semitism....wouldn't be a true day w/o it.....and BTW, the town "those Jews" own, is what keeps the five towns on the map......period.
ftptch July 10, 2012 at 01:58 PM
jeffrub i think the attitude of the town drives more business away than metered parking.......
ftptch July 10, 2012 at 02:01 PM
jjn if the orthodox is what is keeping the ft area "on the map" then they can just keep it....... the area is a mess.... there is a reason no one wants to move there unless they are looking to stay in the isolated "community"......

Peninsula Shopping Center is god-awful. When did it become a thing to drive 40mph in a parking lot (especially one with as screwy a layout as that one has)? Also, WTH are they doing to the lot a Bay Harbor Mall, creating an obstacle course? Those concrete curbs they just put in make no sense and do nothing for the traffic flow.

Bay Harbor Mall. I feel like I'm in a video game and have to fight off cars coming from every which direction. There are no lines. Every time I make it out of there alive, I'm dazed and confused.

Peninsula Shopping Center is by far the worst parking lot

The Jews aren't keeping the five towns on the map, the five towns are known for many other things other than having orthodox jews in the area. However, even though the growing number of orthodox jews and temples is unbelievable, we have to remember that they don't run any of these towns and they can't keep chasing a lot of us out of the area. At least thats how I feel, many other people may object but whatever.

jjn i also have to say hiding being the "antisemitism" card on the first sign of criticism shows how little of a backbone one has..... If your faith is that weak that you have to shut people down when confronting an opposing view then there is more wrong than a few words on an Internet Site......
jjn613 July 10, 2012 at 04:36 PM
sorry ftp........"those jews" is anti-semetic....view or no view, comments like that are unnecessary.

I think it has to be the Bay Harbor Mall. There is no rhyme or reason to anything in that place. Even the Wendy's & Chase drive-thrus don't have a defined exit point and WAY too many blind sides at every building with no mirriors or safety devices. it's amazing that people are not killed on a daily basis. Plus the stores there cater to the rudest, most impatient people on the face of the earth-bargain shoppers!! At least in the Peninsula SC you have an idea of where a lane stops and starts, even with the crazy parking configuration-not to mention the "I'll park where I want because I can afford to pay the ticket" or "my dad/husband is a lawyer/judge and will fix it" mentality that we 5T's have grown to despise. The fire zone in front of Foodtown is not the "I only need to get a few things" lane!! I often walk my son(s) from the car to the sidewalk saying "look out-the crazy lady isn't paying attention"

CVS lot is just full of rude, self-centered litle piggies in mommy-vans. Just got to laugh at them. When I drive through Bay Harbor lot all I hear is the corny musak to the old-school Frogger game!

Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Burnside Avenue is the absolute worst. Always worry my car is going to be hit there and it is next to impossible to exit onto Burnside Avenue. Should be a drive through like the one in Valley Stream.

The CVS in cedrahurst is the worst....2nd runner up is Stop n Shop...
