Car Hits Lawrence Diner, Lands on Top of Parked Car

No one was seriously injured in the accident.

A car hit the Sherwood Diner in Lawrence and then landed on a parked car after the driver lost control Thursday morning.

According to Anthony Rivelli Jr., deputy chief of the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department, around 8:10 a.m., a motorist lost control in parking lot of the Sherwood Diner. The vehicle struck the side of the diner, a parked car and then landed on top of another vehicle.

The occupants were removed by responding emergency personnel. Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department responded to the location and treated the passengers, Rivelli Jr. said.

Firefighters stood by as a heavy wrecker removed the vehicle off of the parked car, according to Rivelli Jr. None of the injured parties required transportation to the hospital.

"The outside of the diner was damaged but no structural integrity was comprimised as a result of the crash," Rivelli Jr. said.

Officers from the Fourth Precinct were on scene investigating the crash.

The Sherwood Diner is fully operational and open for business.
