Cedarhurst Grocery Store Robbed at Gunpoint

No one was injured during the early Monday morning robbery.

The in Cedarhurst was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning, police said.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 5:15 a.m., a black male suspect entered Rite Time at 210 Rockaway Turnpike and ordered a 53-year-old male employee to lie on the floor. The suspect displayed a silver handgun while he demanded the employee to hand over an unknown amount of cash from the register.

The suspect exited the store and entered the passenger side of a cream colored Ford Explorer that fled northbound on Rockaway Turnpike, police said.

The suspect is described as approximately 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with white lettering and a green bandana covering his face.

No injuries were reported.
