Update: Boy Struck by Boat Propeller

10-year-old boy in serious condition after incident in waters off Cedarhurst Yacht Club, cops confirm.

A 10-year-old boy is in serious condition after being struck by a boat propeller in the Five Towns Friday, according to Nassau County Police.

The boy was swimming in the waters near Cedarhurst Yacht Club when he was struck by a moving boat propeller, cops said.

Police, Coast Guard, marine, and aviation units rushed to the scene after the call was received at 2:23 p.m. Friday, cops said.

The boy was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries, cops said. He is reportedly listed in serious condition.

Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department was joined by Long Beach in the rescue, according to Long Beach Fire Commissioner Scott Kemins.

Police did not release the identity of the boy.
