Cops: Man Mugged Near Central Avenue in Woodmere

Two muggers attacked a 69-year-old man near Central Avenue in Woodmere early Tuesday and stole his wallet and satellite radio, police said.

At about 4:27 a.m., the victim was walking on Lafayette Place when two unknown black male subjects approached him from behind, according to police. One of the men — described as 5-foot-5-inches tall — grabbed the victim in a choke hold while the other man took his possessions.

The subjects then fled the scene southbound on Central Avenue in an older model silver SUV. No injuries were reported and there is no further description of the subjects.
