Cops: Man Tried to Rob Former Employer in Cedarhurst

Police said suspect wore black ski mask and was armed with a BB gun.

A Brooklyn man who donned a black ski mask was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly attempted to rob his former employer in Cedarhurst with a BB gun, police said.

Charles Creekmur, 24, allegedly armed with a BB gun and wearing a black ski mask, approached the 59-year-old victim outside of and demanded money, according to police. Without taking any proceeds, Creekmur fled the scene on foot towards the back parking lot and disposed of his jacket, ski mask and BB gun.

Police shortly caught him inside a nearby grocery store. Creekmur was identified as a former employee of the victim, police said.

Creekmur is charged with attempted robbery in the second degree and possession of a dangerous weapon in the fourth degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
