Baldwin man found with multiple counterfeit bills, charged with forgery.

A Baldwin man faces 12 forgery charges after he was caught used counterfeit cash at a Rockville Centre pharmacy, according to Nassau County Police.

Detectives said Steven J. Loetterle, 31, of Baldwin, bought a candy bar at the CVS on Sunrise Highway using a counterfeit $20 bill. After he left, store personnel contacted Rockville Centre Police. Using the description of Loetterle and his 1988 red Chevrolet, RVCPD stopped Loetterle on North Center Avenue, cops said.

Loetterle was found with several counterfeit $20 bills during the stop and was arrested at the scene.

Loetterle is charged with 12 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. He will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
