Cops: Queens Teen Robbed Cedarhurst Store

Boy was then caught trying to steal from another business.

A Queens teenager was arrested and charged with stealing more than $500 from a Cedarhurst store on Tuesday, according to police.

A 16-year-old Whitestone boy, who will not be named in this story because he is a minor, apparently entered the front door of around 5:10 p.m. and removed $500 cash from a metal lock box, police said. He also allegedly took $150 from the cash register, $100 from several envelopes near the cash register, a laptop computer and about $150 worth of assorted costume jewelry, and placed them in a brown paper bag.

The teen then apparently entered the second floor of the building and entered a suite belonging to StudyLogic. He then tried to place assorted items belonging to employees in a box, police said. Someone in the office confronted the teen, and he apparently dropped the box and fled the building.
