Crime Watch: Cars Burglarized, Tires Flattened Nearby

Crimes reported by Nassau County Police this week in the Five Towns area.

Several Woodmere cars were burglarized last week, according to Nassau County Police.

NCPD reported eight car burglaries from both locked and unlocked cars in the Five Towns area. Half of those incidents were reported in Woodmere.

Cars were also broken into in Valley Stream, North Valley Stream, Lawrence, and Inwood.

The following was reported by the Nassau County Police Department.

  • Jan. 7: Clark Place, Woodmere; items removed from a parked car.
  • Jan. 8-9: Grand Central Place, Inwood; victim’s car tire flattened by removing a valve.
  • Jan. 9-10: Margaret Avenue, Lawrence; items removed from unlocked, parked car.
  • Jan. 9-12: Derby Avenue, Woodmere; items removed from a parked car.
  • Jan. 10-11: Dana Avenue, North Valley Stream; all four tires slashed on a parked car.
  • Jan. 11-12: Haig Street, Valley Stream; car’s glove box damaged while it was parked; victim was unsure if the car was locked at the time.
  • Jan. 12: New York Sports Club, Woodmere; Items removed from an unlocked car.
  • Jan. 12: Dartmouth Lane, Woodmere; items removed from parked car.
