Crime Watch: Theft from Vehicles, Dumpster Damaged

Recent activity reported by the Fourth Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

DWI

  • Anthony Monterosso, 51, of Inwood, was arrested on Sept. 19 at Waukena Avenue and Ocean Avenue in Oceanside and charged with driving while ability impaired, third-degree assault and leaving the scene of an accident.

  • Patrick Fairhurst, 31, of North Merrick, was arrested on Sept. 21 on North Central Avenue in Valley Stream and charged with driving while ability impaired, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and four violations of the vehicle and traffic law.

    • Sahrish Salman, 23, of Elmont, was arrested on Sept. 17 and charged with petit larceny at the Sears in Green Acres Mall.

    • Maha Khan, 26, of Elmont, was arrested on Sept. 17 and charged with petit larceny at the Sears in Green Acres Mall.

  • Erica Newman, 36, of Jamaica, was arrested on Sept. 18 and charged with petit larceny at the Sears in Green Acres Mall.

  • Monica Vazquez, 33, of Jackson Heights, was arrested on Sept. 18 and charged with petit larceny at the JC Penney in Green Acres Mall.

  • Monique Wells, 44, and Sherry Heyward, 43, both of Far Rockaway, were arrested on Sept. 20 and charged with petit larceny at the Costco in North Lawrence.

  • Lauren Edel, 53, of Valley Stream, was arrested on Sept. 22 and charged with petit larceny at the Kohl’s in Green Acres Mall.

  • Chanoi Finley, 19, of Cambria Heights, was arrested on Sept. 22 and charged with petit larceny at the H&M in Green Acres Mall.

  • Larceny From Auto

    • An unknown suspect(s) between Sept. 19 and 20 stole an iPod and tote bag from a vehicle that was parked on Meyer Avenue in Valley Stream. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

  • An unknown suspect(s) between Sept. 19 and 20 stole a checkbook from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Midwood Street in Valley Stream.

  • An unknown suspect(s) between Sept. 19 and 20 stole clothing and other miscellaneous items from a vehicle that was parked on Edna Court in Valley Stream.

    • An unknown suspect(s) between Sept. 22 and 23 stole personal papers and money from a vehicle that was parked on 5th Avenue in Cedarhurst.

    • An unknown suspect(s) on Sept. 23 stole sneakers, a vehicle insurance card and registration from a vehicle that was parked on 5th Avenue in Cedarhurst.

    • An unknown suspect(s) on Sept. 23 stole clothing and gift cards from a vehicle that was parked on Church Avenue in Woodmere. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

  • An unknown suspect(s) on Sept. 23 removed a bike rack from a vehicle that was parked on Pearsall Avenue in Cedarhurst.

  • Criminal Mischief

    • An unknown suspect(s) between Sept. 19 and 20 damaged a dumpster at the Bed Bath & Beyond in North Lawrence.

    • A complainant reported to police that an unknown suspect(s) between Sept. 20 and 21 scratched her vehicle while it was parked on Redfern Avenue in Inwood.
