Killer of 13-Year-Old Girl Denied Parole

Robert Golub, who is serving a life sentence in prison after he murdered a 13-year-old Valley Stream girl in 1989, has been denied parole, the state board announced Monday.

Golub, 46, was convicted in 1990 of beating, sexually assaulting and strangling Kelly Tinyes, who lived on the same street in the Gibson neighborhood of Valley Stream. Her body was discovered in a sleeping bag that had been hidden under the stairs in the Golub’s basement.Click here to read the full story.

Fire Commissioner Arrested for Assault

New Hyde Park Fire Commissioner Michael Dolan, Sr. was arrested in Garden City on Friday on assault charges stemming from a road rage incident according to Garden City Police.

According to detectives, officers responded to a road rage incident on Merillon Avenue on Nov. 22 between the 69-year old Dolan and another male driver. Both vehicles had stopped and Dolan allegedly walked up to the other car and punched the driver in the face causing pain, facial lacerations and a broken tooth. Click here to read the full story.

91-Year-Old Man Hit by Car in Parking Lot

A 91-year-old man is in serious condition after he was hit by a car in a Cedarhurst parking lot, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops said the man was struck by a 2012 Buick driven by an unidentified 27-year-old woman who remained at the scene of the accident. Police said he was leaving a business at 147 Spruce Street at 3:43 p.m. Monday when he was hit. Click here to read the full story.

DA: More Charges for Accused LIRR Scammers

New charges have been filed against four Romanian nationals charged with skimming financial information from LIRR ticket machines, according to the Nassau County District Attorney. Police have issued a warrant for a fourth defendant, Cezar Nastasa, who escaped to the United Kingdom shortly after the first arrests, the DA said. Click here to read the full story.
