Crimes Nearby: Man Busted After Drug Deal, Teen Charged in Fatal Crash

A rundown of incidents that occurred in the past week in areas surrounding the Five Towns.

A West Hempstead man was arrested after he was seen conducting an alleged drug deal outside his home Thursday night, according to Nassau County Police, who also said they found eight different types of drugs in his possession.

Officers said they witnessed Joseph Pirrello, 24, exit his residence on Madison Avenue around 10 p.m., approach a waiting vehicle and allegedly conduct a hand-to-hand drug transaction, dropping eight bags of heroin in the car.

The Narcotics Squad reported that the defendant was also found to have marijuana in his possession. They also recovered multiple bags of marijuana, Psilcybin (Mushrooms), Zanax pills, Clonzepam pills, Suboxone, MDMA and LSD in Pirrello's bedroom.

At least two people were injured when their cars collided at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Vincent Ave. in Lynbrook Friday afternoon, sending one of the vehicles into a rock and street sign outside the gas station.

A white Toyota and a tan Nissan Altima were involved in the crash, as the Nissan appeared to be going east on Sunrise and crashed head-on at the Gulf gas station, while the Toyota had extensive side damage.

The Vincent Ave. intersection is known as one of the more as the street does not have a traffic light. Cars may try to make a left turn to head west on Sunrise from Vincent, or may try to turn left or right on Sunrise to Vincent.

The condition of the injured and the cause of the accident were not immediately known.

Two men were seen allegedly breaking into a Rockville Centre home on Seaman Avenue late Tuesday morning, and after a foot chase ensued with police, one was arrested while the other got away, authorities said.

According to police, a neighbor saw two men trying to break into the home at 212 Seaman Ave., and called the police. Rockville Centre and Nassau County police responded to the burglary call around 11:30 a.m., and after an hour-long foot and helicopter search, one suspect was apprehended.

Nishon Parson, 36, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal trespass, according to Rockville Centre Police. The other suspect is still at large.

A Uniondale teen has been charged with manslaughter in a that occurred in West Hempstead Tuesday morning.

According to Nassau County Police, Daritza Lopez, 18, lost control of her vehicle while driving along Hempstead Turnpike at 5:35 a.m. on Nov. 29. She struck a parked car, crossed over the westbound lane, entered the parking lot of an abandoned gas station and then slammed into the wall of a building.

Her passenger, 28-year-old Herica Conteras, also of Uniondale, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lopez faces second-degree manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of motor vehicle in the third degree.
