Police: Oceanside Woman Attacks Officers

An Oceanside woman arrested for burglary on Saturday allegedly attacked officers at the Fourth Precinct, according to police.

Kathryn Ringhauser was charged with third-degree burglary, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing government administration and three counts of assault in the second degree.

Police said that at 9:20 p.m. on Feb. 11, Ringhauser allegedly entered David Express Barber Shop at 1 Anchor Ave. in Oceanside by breaking a front glass window.

Once inside the salon, she apparently took a watch valued at $1,500 and fled. Police officers responded to the scene and found Ringhauser a short time later behind Taco Bell at 3076 Long Beach Rd., where she was placed under arrest.

The watch was recovered from the defendant, according to police.

At the Fourth Precinct Stationhouse, Ringhauser apparently became uncooperative and combative during a prisoner search, police said. She allegedly punched an officer in the face and caused a wrist and neck injury to two other officers in the process of being handcuffed.

The officers were transported to a local hospital where they were treated and released.
