Drivers Injured After Collision on Peninsula Boulevard

Minivan flips on its side after crash at Mill Road intersection.

Nassau County Police and Hewlett Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle auto accident on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and Mill Road in Hewlett. 

It appeared a late model minivan heading north on Mill Road was broadsided by a car traveling eastbound on Peninsula. The force of the impact flipped the minivan, trapping the driver.

Both drivers were transported in ambulances to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic had to be diverted from the area for over an hour until the vehicles and debris were cleared from the roadway.
